Famous Climbs Alps – Aug 3-10

Alpe d'Huez Road Sign

Cycling in the Alps!

The French Alps are renowned for their stunning beauty, pristine lakes and are host to some of the most famous mountain passes in the world of cycling. Come challenge and exhilarate yourself as we take on the likes of Alpe d'Huez, Col de Croix de Fer, Col de Telegraph and Col de Madeleine. All of these climbs are steeped in Tour de France history and have seen many a battle for the coveted Yellow Jersey.

Relax after a day's ride at our mountain chalet, nestled amongst the shimmering valleys and snow-capped peaks. Here we surround ourselves in beauty. Non-cycling activities include hiking in picture-perfect alpine meadows, tasting regional wines, discovering bustling local markets, our private cooking class and unwinding in your chalet’s hot tub.

After a challenging 4 days in the mountains we transfer to Annecy, the “Venice of the Alps”. Stroll through the zigzagging Rues of the Old Quarter or have a coffee next to one of the many canals. Enjoy gourmet meals, great local wines and sunning by the lake (one of the cleanest in the world). If you are looking for more cycling, take a spin along the water and ride the 2009 TdF time-trial route. Annecy is home to many world famous restaurants and excellent shopping featuring local Savoyard specialties. The ideal way to relax after the last few days of mountain rides.
